In case you didn't know this already, CHMR-FM (93.5 on your FM dial) is in a bit of trouble. The owners (which would be the Council of the students Union) are thinking about ways to save money, and it seems that the radio station may be the route they take.
Think about it? Is there any other radio sation where you can listen to a lot of the local bands as you do on CHMR? Is there any other station that pays bands such as Skinny Puppy, Marilyn Manson, or even 2-Pac and Wu-Tang? What about bands such as Glitch, Draive Eye Test, and Bung? If my memory tells me correct, CHMR is the only radio station that could play all these bands.
I'm even told that some member sof the Students Union are talking about a complete shut down of the station.

If you feel the same way I do about this, I suggest you e-mail CHMR and voice your concerns. Local musicians, how else can you expect to get your music heard if our other mainstream staions won't play it? Well, CHMR probably will play it.
You can e-mail CHMR at the following address: chmr@morgan.ucs.mun.ca
Just e-mail that address and tell them that CHMR is an important part of the local msuic scene and that it would be missed terribly if it were taken down. C'mon, it'll only take five minutes of your time! That's not too much to ask, is it?

Thanks to Kathy Rowe-Earle who brought this to my attention. I knew the station was in bad shape, but I had no idea it was this bad. People, if the station is down, where else could you be a DJ?
You can get to the CHMR homepage by clicking here. You are even able to listen to the radio station live over the internet on their homepage.
Thank-you for you help!
